Political help needed

Unread postby jasonraymondson » Thu 29 Nov 2007, 12:47:44

We all know about the big movement for Ron Paul. What of all of the people who vote for Ron Paul in the primaries and he loses?

Are all of these people stuck voting as a repbublican for the main election or can you switch over after primaries to a democrat?

Just something I don't know anything about. Please advise.

You can vote for anyone you want in the general election, regardless of who you support in a primary.

It varies by local party, but for example around here if you vote in a party primary, you might be asked to sign a pledge that you will vote for the party nominee, even if the guy you vote for in the primary isn't the winner. However, you can't be forced to honor that pledge and nobody would know if you didn't unless you tell them.

I think it varies by state. Look up your state board of elections, or just voting in your state.
