Hey- I'm from Portland Oregon and my favorite is Pambiche- its a killer little cuban restaurant on 28th and Glisan- its tiny but the food is muy authentico- try the postres (desserts)- they are out of sight!

My favorite restaurant is India Palace in San Antonio. Really good food, all you can eat, wonderfully fresh buffet, and an ethnically diverse clientele.

I live on a small bay on a great big river. On the shore of the bay is a little, tiny restaurant called The Boathouse. I love it. It doesn't 'do' anything special, save local seafood, but to sit there and eat while drinking a local lager, watching the water birds and the sunset on the water, is very special.

I must get along there soon.

Hey Ya Hala- that's my second favorite restaurant--- that place rocks! And just a few blocks from my farmers market...

I'd say yes to a dinner date...but I barely have time for my wife and friends...I work nights...sorry Eastbay- but come by to the market next summer...

Really great place in San Francisco - Real Food Cafe.

Food is mostly, if not all, vegan and homemade right then and there - absolutely delicious. Atmosphere is really relaxed and kick back. Big pillows and benches with low lighting. Also, twice now the guys working there have left to go on a smoke break and we had the whole restaurant to ourselves.

The best real tandoori-cooked food I've ever had.

Austin TX, two favorites: La Fonda San Miguel and Las Manitas, the Avenue Cafe. Although the Avenue Cafe's lease has expired.

It was once sort of landmark in downtown Austin. Best Mexican breakfast I've ever had, and I frequent mexican restaurants wherever I go.

Of course I can't leave out the Carne Asada burritos available all over the San Diego area. Delectable.

Locally, there is an Italian place called Mario's owned by an Italian lady who also serves the food as well as cooks it. IT takes nearly an hour to get your food, but there's no doubt it does not come pre made off of a truck.

Italian home cooking that rivals what I've had in the North End in Boston (which has some of the best Italian on the planet outside of Italy itself IMHO), which is saying quite a bit for the little town of Forest City NC.
