Well, I'd love to go. That's a bit far north for me, but I could give it a shot. I just can't drive very far till the blood thinners kick in a bit more. Silly blood clots, getting in my lungs.

Great idea! You want to burn oil to talk about .............. oil depletion?

How about internet chat, teleconferencing or simply PO News?

Neatly sums up the whole dilemma doesn't it?

I would come if my schedule allows, but Wausau is too far north for convenience. How about Devil's Lake State Park? It is more central, about 2.5 to Green Bay, 3 hours to Chicago, 3.5 to Minneapolis.

Tried to get people to get together at the energy fair in June, when there would be lots of other pertinent stuff to do for the weekend, without much luck. Summer is a bad time for us to be away from home because of the garden, orchard, etc.

EJ

In a cryptic way, I was simply observing that to do just about anything, even something considered to be useful, in today's society requires the use of oil. Hence the dilemma I referred to. It is unfortunately not an absurdity but it is an inescapable fact.

Your analogy, by the way, is not apt. Meetings are discretionary, eating is not.

There are other ways to conduct meetings through the use of technology. However, if social contact is considered to be a high priority, then you are going to leave much bigger carbon footprints behind.
