Massive prefab post-peak feudal fortress

Check this out. 57*35' N, 134*39' E

Five miles in diameter; 1300m mountains with only one very narrow entry. A perfect place to start your own little satanic doom town.

Except it's in Siberia. It's not inviable -- you'd just need more slaves to compensate for the climate. And who knows, if the place warms up enough you could even grow temperate crops and have a super-long growing period, and if not then just sit back and tax the local reindeer herders nearly to death.

There might be some Russian scientists making radioactive monkeys there right now, but you could just get them to work for you.

I think Google Earth is making me insane...

I don't think that's a road, going in there, I think it's a glacier.

A similar formation occurs north of the 40 and west of Albuquerque. The Jemez Mtns I believe they're called. One could search for similar formations in NA. There's got to be a few dead, eroded slumpy volcanoes here and there that would fit the bill.

Yeah you're right -- that's definitely an ice flow, although there are still some strange looking straight lines along it that don't seem natural. It looks pretty melted too...
