Darth may have wussied out at the last minute due to paternal feelings, and the Emperor may have been thrown into the bottomless pit, but that's just so the kiddies can have a "happy ending" for their movie.
In real life, the Emperor(s) are always with us, and they are getting all the chix, LOL.
I think the Left Hand Path is just a matter of "thinking outside the box." We are raised with all these pieties and kindergarten teacher moralities, and we have to throw them off in order to be adults with fully functioning brains.
A sociopath doesn't care what others think about him. I've known a real sociopath. Here's my sociopath story, about Bill.
Bill and I hung out because we had no other friends. We didn't really like each other, but we didn't have much choice. I used to say we were "frienemies."
I remember he deflowered a nice Catholic girl, and emotionally abused her. One time we all went skiiing, and on the way home, Bill and the girl got into an argument in the back seat. Bill started crying. I could tell it was fake, but the girl could not. I told the girl that Bill was faking it, and he got pretty mad at me. I didn't talk to him for a long time after that, as I recall.
One day when I was about 21, Bill showed up in my life again. He had been in the Marines and in the first Persian Gulf War. He was all about telling me war stories, so I played along. He had a new apartment in a nearby town.
We left his apartment to find the neighborhood bar. We found one, and Bill said, "Here's my neighborhood bar, I'm going to be a regular. I'll be here EVERY NIGHT! Yeah!" I said, "That's good Bill, you could use a place to hang out. Maybe you'll meet friends here."
Then a waitress came up to us and said, "Excuse me, did you lose some money?" I looked in my wallet and said no. Bill looked in his wallet and said, yes. THe waitress pointed by Bill's feet. It was a 20 dollar bill. Bill said, "Oh, that's mine, thanks." The waitress said "no problem."
Then the waitress's friend told her she lost 20. The waitress came over and asked for the 20 back. Bill said, "no way." The waitress and the girl who lost the 20 (20 was a lot of money in 1993) implored Bill to give back the money. I said to Bill, "if you are going to be a regular here, you should probably get off on the right foot and give back the money." Bill adamantly refused, insisting the money was his. He got real mad that I didn't automatically take his side. I said, "the hell with this" and left. I never saw Bill again.
So I think that sociopaths lead sterile lives. They keep screwing people over. That's they only way they deal with people. I don't find them glamorous or cool or "dark." Once you know their game, you don't deal with them -- you shut them out.
I don't think Jack is a sociopath (sorry Jack). If he was, he wouldn't be posting on this message board. Sociopaths don't care about ideas.
