Sounds vaguely communistic to me.
Realistically there is no way to do that without standardizing prices around the world as well. Sure, I'd love to buy a house for what it costs in India or China! Problem is, that would wipe out a few friends of mine pretty quickly.
And then we would have to standardize various other commodities arond the world. I'll take one VW Lupo diesel, 100 mpg., in construction equipment yellow for highway visiblity. Oh, and let's have some of that legal Amsterdam recreational marijuana here in the US too, perfect way to encourage mass amotivational syndrome for the powerdown.
Hmm, this could get interesting.
Now if we're going to have global labor arbitrage, that calls for global unionization of workforces to keep the playing field level; after all it's not a free market unless it's a fair market and vice-versa. Unless of course the World Wages & Prices Board sets all of these levels, in which case, no need for arbitrage and no need for unions.
