A professor at my university is deep into peak oil. As a scientist (astrophysicist and whatnot), he's deeply ashamed of the current state in regard to oil and where we are heading, given the warnings we had back in the '70's. Anyway, he keep a clock of the amount of money we've spent on foreign oil in current dollars on his personal website.

$3.5 trillion so far. Over the next 10 years, the US will roughly double that, or would anyway if we could find those sources of oil.

I wasn't sure if anyone else had seen a clock for foreign oil. I've seen plenty others for various items (war costs, dead, total oil, etc).
