Losing your Politics

Unread postby NEOPO » Sat 20 Jan 2007, 06:25:02

I must say it took an awfully long time yet here I am!
Happy to finally be here with those capable of seeing things beyond politics.

I still have many of my former beliefs about certain policies some liberal some conservative.
In the real world under close friendly examination I have been dubbed the most conservative liberal in the world yet that is neither here nor there. just an example that some people who really know me do not see me as a tree hugging liberal.....

I am no longer a republican nor a democrat and I no longer have any faith whatsoever in this government or this two party system.

If the person that gets into power isnt a scumbag then they usually have ways of compromising and corrupting just about anyone.
We all have weaknesses and they are experts at finding and exploiting them.
Corrupting absolutely.
A good leader is the exception not the rule.

Stepping back I see that political fundyism on either side of the issues shares many attributes with religious fundyism or even atheist fundyism.

So as you can imagine it was no surprise to find that many of the politico types were also religious types.
I am sure if I look closer I will see other correlations.

The same people who desire to either have faith in god or even those who become atheists because of something some religious people did to them are the same who want to continue to have faith in government.

Wow - this thing really hit me in the face today.
So painfully obvious yet of course they cannot see it.

Anyways it feels good to have made it to this point.
Liberating like when I lost my religion 8)
Thanks PEAKOIL.COM!!

indeed, the government is rediculously corrupt. Take Clinton, besides his little sexual escapades I thought he was pretty decent and honest. Oh how wrong I was. Clinton was basically organised crime, nothing less. What does it say about the rest of the government when organised crime is running USA ?

If you don't believe me .. take a watch of this.

Hard core Dukey and thats one reason I enjoy your posts.
Allow me to speak for the "normals" when I ask you "Why do people like you hate america!?"

I took Azreals advice and read up on schizophrenia and the like which of course gave me a headache!
Hah! It would seem that most people here at po.com fit the loose criteria used by many to define this sort of mental illness.
We're all a buncha peak oil nutters to 99.9% of the world!!! muahahahah

Uhm yeah - good stuff and happy to no longer feel for one side or the other.
None of the issues presented in that video were new to me yet I can see now that I simply wanted to believe that the man was good and that he would do the right thing. This video only helps to confirm the "rumors" that already existed.

What a long strange trip it has been.
I may have been to this place of lost political souls previously in life yet simply could not believe it.... ya know?
In fact I am quite certain of it yet I still feel like a virgin :-D
Instead of born again this time its "dead" again and might I add gratefully.

Wake up and realize that we do not need middle men sitting and brokering between us and our power!

We do not need to pay someone to set the rate on the amount which we will pay!
We are perfectly capable of setting our own rates.
We do need to pay someone to print our money for us or otherwise regulate what ALL OF THEM wish us to believe is a free market!

Do I believe any of this will occur without the use of good ole fashioned ass whoopin force much like our founding fathers displayed against their british imperial overlords?
Sadly No and I aint no martyr so have fucking fun with your purge, call me if you need some cucumbers or tomatoes etc etc 8)

See now I am angry - these corrupt mofo's have taken something away from me and/or I have only now realized that I never really had it and that was the right to vote with the attached stipulation that it mattered.

Slaves!! each and every one of us 8)

You are so right NEO.

I enjoy your and dukey's posts very much. Sometimes I have to move on because it hurts my head though, KWIM?

I still haven't broken myself of voting though. I felt it necessary in November, but won't be surprised when nothing much gets done. There were some important local initiatives that I'm glad I voted on, though.

I may opt out in 2008.

test?
am i banned and just dont know it yet?

Edit ok :o

TY MG and yes I KWYM.

You are more correct by suggesting that we should not stop voting on issues as that may be the real extent of our voting power.

I should have titled this one "losing your politicians".

Careful as hanging out with us too much might result in your guilt by association. :)
