About two years ago I came across this website and started informing myself on what was really going on in this world. It was a bit of a scary ride (my husband having ripped off his blinkers a lot longer before me) but invoked long discussions with my husband, who wanted to leave the UK and move somewhere to try to start a self sufficient lifestyle, further away from consumerism etc.
I never thought i had the guts to do it. Never thought I could move away from all the things I thought I needed and wanted.
Time flies, we moved 10 months ago to Portugal, on a shoestring, but have this summer managed to at least not having to buy our fruit and veg as we're growing it ourselves. It's a bloody steep learning curve, with some hillarious moments and sweating blood sweat and tears, especially since we've got animals now as well!
What i wanted to say, mainly thanks to this site and reading what others had to say about peakoil, I've opened my eyes.

YEP - I dont think this board could ask for much else from one person.
