Well... the CPI as is it is a joke adjusted to reflect a dude with a smiley face and "don't worry be happy".
Yeah right, inflation did fell, even though energy costs are roughly the double of 18 months ago!!!
Now I do expect the same kind of mexican treatment (in Mexico, inflation is at 0% and unemployment at 2% and economic growth at 10% since the 1970s... it is paradise like duh!!!) for the oil production factors.
OPEC didn't have any issues doubling its reserves overnight, and after Enron I would expect the bigger the corporation, the bigger it will cook the books. Hence the governement will never publish a decrease in oil production... "unconventional" equivalents computed using obscure formulas will make up for it.
Expect 140 mbp of production on track for 2030. Of course it will be all "equivalent mbp adjusted for seasonal variations in line with the second phase of the Moon".
