Recycle + Oil = Product...?

Unread postby Last_Laff » Sun 15 Oct 2006, 23:56:57

I have a question regarding recycling..

Since we recycle materials, especially plastics. Does oil still need to be added to the recycled material to manufacture the products?

I've searched this site for the answer what I was looking for but I could'nt find it.

Thanks

Well, off the top of my head, you need natural gas to run the furnaces that melt down and the plastic as part of the recycling process.

plus every time you recycle it you lose some of the strength of the plastic degrading it.
