I mountaineer the big peaks and see em all the time. Wild and awsome. U do not want to fly in them. My pilot friend told me they are velocity winds associeted. and when we want to summit we avoid them. Dont want to be up there with them up there.

Awesome shots. Yeah I love those lenticular clouds. Unfortunately I live in an area with no mountains, though I have seen lenticular clouds on a few occasions when the winds and shear are there in the atmosphere. I've got a few pics that I've taken somewher in my archive, but I don't feel like finding them now to post. Seems like whenever I see a good shot I don't have my camera with me.

I love sky and cloud shots.
