$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', ' ')COOPER CITY · The city has given itself the right to seize its residents' personal property for public use in an emergency.

And although commissioners say it would use its new law only in "an exceptional disaster," some residents are furious.

"These people, with their mindset, should be arrested and put in jail for even attempting to do something like this," said Tim Wilder, a mobile mechanic who owns emergency tools and equipment.

Commissioners on July 25 approved the law in anticipation of a busy hurricane season, to ensure the city could assist residents quickly. But they said they wouldn't enforce it unless there were no other options.

So one buys solar panels...lives sustainably...grows a garden...and right now, today, before any real emergency happens, we see plans for seizure of property.

Perhaps it will bring death to any figure of law enforcement who feels that a law allowing some bureaucrat to seize my property is more important than his own life.

Yeah, even if you commit "suicide" by SWAT team. I'm sure that each household they raid for the "greater good" could take at least one or two SWAT thugs down with them. Over the course of a few raids the SWAT teams would take too many casualties, lose morale, quit, or eventual get reduced in numbers to zero. If americans kept this kind of attitude and willingness to sacrifice for freedom instead of capitulating and saying: "the second amendment and your small arms don't matter because the government has so much better weapons", martial law could never happen.
