$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('annie', 'I')t is our mission to help people understand that we create our own reality within the context of our mass reality upon this finite planet. We have the ability to make our lives a heaven or a hell; but in so doing, we must address the issues of our day. We live in a world where the individual has been given supremacy over the collective, where subjective personal desires have been given free rein to use and misuse an objectified world, where we generate material gain through the exploitation of our environment, other living creatures and our fellow man (or woman). This egocentric outlook brought us to our current condition: we inhabit an atomized world of depleted resources, pollution, impoverishment and overpopulation. If we follow this perspective to its logical conclusion, then we will follow numerous other species into extinction as a result of entropy, environmental overshoot and subsequent die-off.

At some point there will be a "die off". You cannot stop it. Our main problem isn't perception it is one of intelligence. 80-90% of the world are useless (except in our current society were we place value on the low level work they can do) and always will be. They will also most likely have kids just as useless.

I agree with most of the things you said though.

Useless for what?

We are all just DNA carriers, even the "useless" are doing that quite successfully.

They are useless in the sense that they contribute little yet require resources to function. Not only that when they get control of intelligent people through the help of other idiots (many vs one) they are even more damaging.

They are slightly more productive than a coma patient yet their lives have a significant negative impact. An intelligent person can invent the lightbulb AND do menial work if need be.

No one on this planet is contributing anything. We are all useless. So are all the other species here.

True, some of us humans are intelligent, others strong, others sexy, some successful, poor, rich and so on. But we are all absolutely useless. Or what purpose do you think the human race has on this planet, except simply to be?

It was "intelligence" that stopped Malthus being right a couple of centuries ago.

Intelligence has made our bloom worse, not better.

Sure an intelligent person can invent the lightbulb, but he also invents new demand....

Well that's verging on "what's the meaning of life?" of which there is nothing you could say with any authority.

My stance is if people are going to exist they can do it in efficient ways and do it so that if I don't want to know about something they're doing it won't affect me (eg pollution, waste, taking too much, etc).

You are both wrong and right. It has made it worse because idiots tend to use the new technology excessively (with exceptions) or create the demand for wasteful things (SUVs which are used in cities mostly, etc). I also mentioned this with the "when idiots control the intelligent".

Not really, again, because we are not very intelligent after all. Because of our limited life-span our brains not able to compute the total impact of our acts. Even the most intelligent human acts selfish and short-sighted, which makes us not very intelligent, even we tend to believe we are much more smarter than an ant.

Excellent chap on TV last night, he said we don't think, we act then justify.

Says who? The world is what it is. Live with it or buy your ticket to outer space. A few people have done so already---if you can afford it, that is. If not, then live with it. Most of the world has it much harder than you, so they don't have time for complaining. Maybe getting busy would help. You won't live more than a few decades more anyway. Why worry?

Well you can say that to anything can't you.... "stop worrying about XXX, youll be dead soon...."

I'll get busy exterminating the problem with my own "Final Solution" ? That way I can get busy doing something about the scourge? At least that way you can't fault me ;)

Interestingly enough, some contend that depopulation of the third world was first advocated by Henry Kissinger some years ago. One need only Google the terms Kissinger+useless+eaters or Kissinger+depopulation to get some interesting results.

Who knows if any of them are true. Still, Kissinger was quite a brilliant fellow. An out-of-the-box thinker, if you will. Perhaps he had the right idea.

He's still around running the show behind the scenes according to some conspiracy theorists.

I wouldn't have believed it myself but he popped up recently (can't find link) he's still working for the government.
