$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')b]One On One With Sempra Energy CEO Don Felsinger Thursday, August 03, 2006:
GHARIB: Now a big part of your business is in trading commodities...

FELSINGER: ...And in times of high energy prices and volatility like we`re seeing right now in oil and natural gas, it makes more money and so in the near term, I don`t see any relief. I look at natural gas fundamentals and there`s no relief coming until new LNG supplies come to the shores of North America and the same with electricity...
In other words - Natural Gas (for all practical purposes) will never be inexpensive again.

Well, if our experience turns out to be like that of the UK, the "relief" will be iffy at best.

Many times LNG tankers on their way to the UK have changed course in mid-voyage and headed elsewhere because their owners were offered better deals by somebody else! Who's to say that won't happen to us?

i think you lose something like .. 30% of the energy contained in the gas by compressing it to a liquid. It aint cheap ..
