Mal-Wart Heads Downtown...

Inner-city stores planned, and retail analysts agree that low-income neighborhoods represent last unexploited retail market.

I wonder if their store format will change... Cities tried to emulate the suburbs back in the 70s and it didn't work too well. Word to the wise.

maybe the bigwigs at wallyworld have been reading the long emergency. in the LE kunstler opines that people in the burbs will move back into the cities, so maybe walmart figures that when these people move back into the city (ie. rich folks), the poor will move out, and viola! the familiar face of the walmart greeter will be there to welcome the masses.
