You can be arrested for ANYTHING

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('kochevnik', '
')In modern society we are the second group. We control almost nothing, and we are periodically forced to suffer shocks to our system at mostly random intervals. Between govt, business, and the 11 million pages of arcane technical legal statutes (which I would point out we are even powerless to to be allowed to interpret for ourselves without the 'help' of lawyers and judges - we are not only not permitted to follow the laws, we are not allowed to even understand them in the first place) we cower in rage and numbness.

In Texas, you will now be arrested if you get drunk in a BAR.

"Going to a bar is not an opportunity to go get drunk," TABC Capt. David Alexander said. "It's to have a good time but not to get drunk."

What a bunch of LOWLIFE crooks.

Why even have a "designated driver" if you can be arrested in a bar with a BAC over the legal driving limit?

Personaly I don't go to bars, and when I drink, it's in a house, either mine or someone elses....

Also a bar is a PRIVATE establishment...so how is that "Public" intoxication????

SODOM was very high on thier own LAWS as well...when it suited them...

Are you from Dallas?

For those not in the know, Dallas has very draconian laws that suppliment stiff Texas blue laws on alcohol. Dallas has a ban on alcohol and to drink you had to become part of a merchant's "club" that is a database that allows you to buy a beer. For example, let's say you go out to a grill and have a beer with your dinner. First you are ID is checked, then it is swiped on a magnetic strip reader and god knows where it goes from there. It's not enough to be carded in Dallas, you are swiped then tracked. Resturaunts, grills and bars that do not comply face giant fines.

Also beer and hard stuff cannot be sold from a liquor store after 9pm in Texas. I once tried to buy a can of coke at a liquor store when I was 22. I was refused by the owner did not want to take a chance on me because I had a Oklahoma DL instead of a Texas DL.
If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Pennsylvania consumes more beer than any other state union and has more guns than any other state in the union. Let them try to license me to drink beer, boy howdy.

Up here in Canada we actually elected a guy because he said the average working man should be able to afford a beer after work and vowed to lower alcohol taxes.

That was enough to get him elected... unfortunately he went on to actually try and get abortion made illegal and totally lost the peoples support.

Cheap beer and Less abortion?

It's like trying to sell the Barbie edition Harley Davidson.

It's just not an easy sell...

God. Sounds like Texas is trying to turn into Utah.

Of a thousand burning bridges
Sifting through the ashes every day
What we thought would never end
Now is nothing more than a memory
The way things were before
I lost my way" - OCMS
