What is going on here?
US major media are not spreading the news of anti-Peakist's vision of America's future. They only quote how they don't think US will collapse if we run out of oil as we will use other energy sources. They also quote how they think Peak advocates are incorrect because there are lots more fossil fuel than is known. If anyone read what anti-Peakist like Yergin from Cera or Exxon or Michael Lynch, they will see that they believe our lifestyles will change in the next few decades.
Yergin believes people will drive cars that will get 100+mpg.
Lynch believes that as prices rise- people will conserve.
WTF?
Aren't those the same things that Peakist like Campbell et al said will need to happen in the future?
I don't understand what is the difference between Anti Peakist versus Peakist when we are talking what life will be like 20-50 years from now.
The only difference I see is in the short term. Many peakist believed in peak dates like yester year all the way to before 2020 versus anti-peakist who don't give a date or thinks it will plateau by 2020 or beyond.
To me this is no difference as it just means how accurate you can estimate peak.
