How Good? The film you mean?
Well, it deals briefly with the "crime", distributing pamphlets describing how the the Germans can't win the war. The focus is on the interrogation of Sophie and the police officer who was doing it. Since this was a "normal" crime at that time, the regular police handled it as if it was a car theft or a murder. You'll not find any cliche Gestapo "Ve hav vayz to make you talk" stuff in this film.
The police officer (a dull bureaucrat) did his job, a "trial" was held and Sophie and her friends, the members of the White Rose, were sentenced to death and executed.
The film is based on a true story. Sophie Scholl actually existed and the film is very true to what actually happened as I understand it.
I reccomend it! It's a very good film which also brings a message to us here and now to contemplate. (I just heard a discussion about the biometrical ID shit in the UK on NPR today. If this isn't the beginning of fashism then I don't know...)
Julia Jentsch is very good as Sophie Scholl in the film. You can also enjoy her in the film "Die Fetten Jahre sind vorbei" or "The Edukators" [sic] which is a bit PO-related...
Was soll das?
