The world against the US: See if you agree

Unread postby Lokutus » Sat 07 Jan 2006, 18:28:12

Something to consider. It seems like the entire world is starting to unite against US hegemony. Look at the EU introducing the Euro which may soon replace the dollar as the new petro-currency. Look at Iran's plans to start trading oil in Euros come March 1st. Some say we invaded Iraq to foil Saddam's plans to start selling his oil in Euros.

Look at Chavez's revolution in South America. Now Evo Morales has joined him. Other are close to joining as well.

Look at China's awakening to its superpower potential and resultant jockying for position in influence and access to resources. It's building its own regional group of allies.

The Russians are going to start flexing the muscle their oil gives them.

It's like the entire world is starting to line up against us.

Think of the world as a high-school. The USA is the big over-grown kid who's been pinning all the little kids to the ground and taking their lunch money forever. Now everyone is finally fed up with this state of affairs and realizing that the bully needs to be stood up to.

Well since you start bumping your thread after a couple of hours without an answer...

Yes, I agre with what you just said. The USA just reinvented the middle ages by starting to use torture in the western world, starting another crusade to exterminate the infidels and introducing religiuos doctrine in schools and society again (Intelligent Design).

Yes, Bush shoud be executed and so should all corrupt politicians. I speak from a libertarian perspective. I believe in the power of the individual. I hate the collective. I think that America today is a threat to the world because of the power it has and the socialistic/fascistic politics it's confessed to.

I'm very grateful to America because it liberated Europe from Nazism by taking part in WW2. America also brought the Soviet Union and Communism to its knees which also helped the world.

So: THANK YOU VERY MUCH CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

Now, stop being so naive. Stop this **** I have to endure here at PO.com and in the news every day. Become again what you once were. The greatest country on the Earth. Yes, I think that America once was the greatest. Today, the rest of the world laughs at you because you have to play this World Police, Jesus Christ loving game.

Just my 2 (Euro) cents.
Was soll das?

America was the greatest country once because we had abundant resources which we don't now. Now we have to steal the resources from other countries.

This is a transcript of a recent debate in which Specop claims to have bested a physicist.

Specop: Physics dude, how fast does light travel?

Physicist: Light travels at a speed of 186,000 miles a second or 700 million miles an hour.

Specop: I disagree.

Physicist: stunned...silently waits for much needed elaboration.

Specop: distracted by a shiny object at the back of the room.

Physicist: You have nothing to add?

Specop: Huh?

And I would be right to argue light does not travel at 186,000 miles per second.

better do some research before you make ridiculous claims.

Well I agree to a point.

If you look at all our international aide and what the US has done for the world as whole I think the US has been a vital stabilizing force over the last 100 years especially think WWI WWII and the cold war. A world without the United States would not be a better place. And sure we did pick a fight with the little Asian kid because he was paling around with that friggin Russia prick we hated but hey who knew the little shit knew karate. And what an embarrassment it was when he roundhoused us, little sunambitch.

We haven't been stealing as much as we have been walking the halls like we own the place and we do drive the best car have the best house and our girlfriends a super hot blond cheerleader, and we spend all our cash like there is no tomorrow and that piss everyone else off.

Anyway I do agree with the point that it looks like the world is lining up against t the US. But people should be careful what they wish for. Without the big dumb jock around to protect you, that nasty greaser will be holding ya up with his switch blade and stealing your milk money pdq. But this time Biff won't be able to come runnin to save your ass because someone slashed his tires.

All I am saying is that when the leader of pack is taken out there is a power struggle to determine who the new leader is going to be and with nuclear weapons at peoples disposal that sort of thing can get ugly quick.

I think the main point most people here are missing is that the US is the last remaining superpower in the world. China`s military is still a joke (as is the rest of the world) compared to the US. Before the Soviet Union collapsed, there was more balance of power. Now that balance is gone. The US military is capable of some serious ass kicking if it really needed to. Don`t look at Iraq as an example of what the US military is capable of. That`s nothing. I think most people here have no clue just how powerful and destructive the US military machine really is in unrestricted warfare. A political collapse within, well... that`s a whole nother story.
