The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Criss Angle is pretty entertaining. The problem is he pretends that he is actually using magic and not illusions.

Can I do this? Absolutely. A discreet harness attached to a rig which are easily edited out in post production, and a small crowd of extras paid to go “Oh man, that’s so cool!!”

His show flopped here in Australia (well in Brisbane anyway) and was pulled after 3 episodes. I guess people just aren’t that gullible. Not many people believe in magic these days…

Would be cool to see how he does it.

I remember being wowed by Blaines "levitation" then realising it was done by standing on the tips of one toe at an angle and then editing a scene with a rig to make it look authentic.

The coat conceals a hinged leg that is belted just underneath his arms as he is laid back, the hinged leg extends. take note that everyone else is in short sleeves. Same way the swamies (or whatever they call themselves) levitate.

I thought we killed the clown Arron.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('DerelictOverlord', 'T')he coat conceals a hinged leg that is belted just underneath his arms as he is laid back, the hinged leg extends. take note that everyone else is in short sleeves. Same way the swamies (or whatever they call themselves) levitate.

Actually on his show he did it a few times with “volunteers” who didn’t have any coat touching below them. He also ran a stick underneath them to show there was nothing supporting them. I think it would have been done with a simple rig set above them in plain view supporting them with thin wires. The rig and the wires would just be edited out later.

I find illusionists to be very entertaining. I love trying to figure out how they did it, and I don’t think it takes the fun out of the illusion. But I really hate how Chris Angle pretends its real magic and craps on about our inner power being stronger then the physical world etc. He wants people to believe it’s real. Give me a break.

If he could really perform magic, he wouldn’t be doing party tricks, he’d be healing the sick, restoring the environment and replenishing the worlds oil reserves. Now that would be much more impressive then levitating in a crowd or bench-pressing a Hummer.

replenishing oil reserves? not a good idea, catastrophic global warming would get us.

we cant really win when it comes to the environment, ya know.

the only solution is billions of vasectomies.

and you can quote me on that one.

Okay, I will.

Now this begs the question: Did you follow your own advice?
