if we could pump it out at any rate we wanted according to Dr. Bartletts lecture that is online.

I was just thinking. Could you imagine what that would do to the air quality if we could do that? Burn in 20 years what we did in the past 150 years? 8O

Well the worst case scenario (which I love reiterating being a doomer :-D ) is that the world will heat up until it passes tipping points and then goes through accelerated warming due to postive reinforcement. Say we manage to heat things up enough for the majority of Siberia to melt and release abundant methane that itself speeds up warming and methane burps from the oceans. Then eventually we might experience a global extinction event like what could have caused that other huge die-off long ago where 90% of everything died. And then the story of homo sapiens sapiens would end and we would be known as the most irresponsible animal on the planet.

You have to be the most cheerful doomer of them all! But who will tell the tale of the evil humans? Maybe the rats will evolve intelligence and tell stories to scare their little rat-kids. They'll have museums with humans in diorama displays using things like leaf-blowers and hair-driers.
