So who here lives with their parents?

I moved out when i was 19, but thats because my mom is crazy. After reading this article about "Mamma's boys", i thought i might pose the question to you folks.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'B')ut those don’t address the cultural and psychological factors which have an even greater sway on this trend: the fact that it is socially OK for a grown man to live with his mother.

Whereas Anglo-American society often views an adult male living at home as being somewhat peculiar or inadequate, Italians think it’s absolutely normal.

Many of the guys who do live at home pay lip service to their wish for independence, but privately admit that they enjoy the best of both worlds.

They feel free to frolic sexually and take frequent vacations abroad, but enjoy coming home to a doting mother, to find their favorite meals on the table and their fashionable clothing cleaned, pressed and hanging in the closet.

???

A friend in his late 20's recently moved back home, and i think no differently of him. If it saves money and if you get along with your parents, more power to you.

Oh yeah...the catholic church isn't happy about these men

Mama Mia! Thatsa spicey meata ball! I think it makes sense for these Italian kids, but American attitudes come from a different background. We had a continent to settle, Indians to pacify, Mexicans to kick ass on. A young man was expected to go out into the World, not stay home and exploit mama's doting affection. Plus, old-time American families were more paternal, Pop wouldn't take too kindly to that kind of behavior (not the carousing part - the freeloading part. Past centuries' American Males were a carousing, cussing, boozing and gambling bunch).

It doesn't help that most NA women don't like guys who can't take care of himself. Far too many of them expect their g/f's to baby them like mama does.
