LOL!

But your title is a bit inaccurate...

"U.S. oil and gas projects are being delayed" does not equal "lack of oil discoveries" (unless the author is rehashing someone's sad, sorry excuse of project re-openings... the workers are on drugs!!)

It's still kind of funny about the projects being 'delayed' because of that...

I thought their title was a little misleading:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'U').S. oil and gas projects are being delayed

I'd say that was more approprite for stoners...you know "just can't be arsed" getting back to work :-D :-D

funny stuff.

In 1989 scientist located a THC receptor site in the human brain.
I will let you draw your own conclusions as to what this means.

If anything - "tweakers" think they are doing more but really doing less and "stoners" are doing more but think they are doing less 8)
Perhaps that is a result of stigma.

What I find interesting about this is it somewhat supports Mike Ruppert's allegation that the U.S. oil industry and the drug trade go hand in hand. Although I never finished reading his book, one of the allegations is that the CIA and private enterprise use the oil industry, in part, to transport drugs throughout the world, bc oil equipment etc is not inspected by customs or other government agencies.

Lol, what's the next reason they come up with? Because the stars are not in a good constellation or the greek gods are angry?

It's really ridiculous that the media readily jump on everything to give a rationale for high oil prices except the underlying fundamentals...

Wow. Didn't realise their jobs were so stressful.

StreetDrugs.org

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'M')ethamphetamine is a powerful stimulant that activates certain systems in the brain. It is closely related chemically to amphetamine, but the central nervous system effects of methamphetamine are greater. Both drugs have some medical uses, primarily in the treatment of obesity, but their therapeutic use is limited. The central nervous system (CNS) actions that result from taking even small amounts of methamphetamine include increased wakefulness, increased physical activity, decreased appetite, increased respiration, hypothermia, and euphoria. Other CNS effects include irritability, insomnia, confusion, tremors, convulsions, anxiety, paranoia, and aggressiveness. Hyperthermia and convulsions can result in death.

Drugs and alcohol have often been big issues on the drilling site. In the 1970s, a lot of the rig business in Texas was done over bags of drugs. The majors tended to clamp down on this starting in the mid 80s.

In my work as a wellsite geologist in the 80s and early 90s, drugs were a constant fact of life for many of the rig hands and oil service people. Lots of coke, pot, speed, and alcohol. Sometimes it was downright dangerous.

At one rig camp in the Prudhoe Bay field in 1981, some of the crews would drink Jack Daniels all night and then go into a 12 hour rig shift with little or no sleep. They must have been hard alcoholics because there was rarely a problem. The camps are probably all dry by now.
