None of the above.

I voted for Carter and then I voted for Reagan. I don't have much confidence in the parties anymore, though.

You realize Green Party, Socialism and Communism are just damn near the same thing, and all 3 are pretty close to Democratic Party's values right?

Actually, they are all pretty much the same thing, or to put it frankly all lead to the same thing.

I am none of the above as well. I am a conundrum. I am a democratic socialist with strong libretarian leanings. Either that or a libretarian with strong socialist leanings! :D

and why wasn't librretarian on the list? There are enough people that are, and I would think particularly on these boards that would have taken that choice.

Communism is pretty cool, I chose that. Although it isn't very practical to consider yourself one in this day and age, so I'm more democrat.

And if you want to nit pick, there is a difference between communism and socialism. Socialism is a lighter version of communism that is supposed to precede it. When a society is successful enough under a socialist system, it graduates to a communist one.

The U.S.S.R.'s failure to start out with socialism was one of the reasons the American Communist Party gave for why it didn't work out. Once the dust settles and the shit is done hitting the fan, communism is going to have a chance again, or something like the system anyway. Too bad the world won't be worth hanging around in to see what happens.

None of the above. US online political tests mostly put me as a centrist.

So maybe leftwing republican or rightwing democrat?

But I have this nagging idea that in reality I am completely off the US political chart as I think the welfare state is a really good idea.

Social Democratic -> Greens.

Green parties historically tend to oscillate between slightly left-of-center to the far-left. I don't think there's a social democratic party in the US so that's the closest.

Democrats aren't social democrats.

No I dont. Communists are despised by most even on the left. There are considerable differences between the greens and the socialists.

An by most standards the democrats would be centrist, perhaps even center-right like most european liberal parties.

Actually I voted for Democrat because I guess it comes closest to my mostly centrist views.

IMHO, the one that is least soiled by corporate money wins with a leaning toward Constitutional Conservatives. If Aaron will post a link I'll join the RAs.
