While I could say a lot of good things about northern-Europe it certainly does not include the weather. This year sun has been something I've seen on TV only. So in a couple of hours I hope to be heading for tropical beaches, palm trees and copious amounts of sunshine.

It will certainly be an opportunity to take my head of peak oil for a while, which I think is only healthy. Well - not entirely. Since my destination of choice is a small island, headed by a slightly deranged - though admirable- dictator, the most adorable of the axis of evil, I think I'll learn a lot about post peak civilization.

Of course you'll get my impressions in a few weeks.

Until then I wish you a healthy discussion and I hope to speak to you again

take care,

:)

Speaking as someone who lives on a small island ruled by a malevolent pseudo-democracy, with palm trees and sand, welcome to the sun! :)

However, this summer has been exceptionally chilly here. The peak temp this year barely reached only 41°C (usually nearer 44-45°, record 47.5°C). Yesterday's peak was 36°C but the humidity is rising, making it less comfortable.
