When he graduated they gave him the school's highest honor. After all the other awards were given for various achievements, he got the 'School Award' for the 'spirit of reconciliation', i.e. he was the peacemaker. I'm not a practising Christian and I don't believe the promises about eternal life, but the Christian message is about reconciliation and civilized values. We are all born with 'baggage', difficult emotions that would smash our personal world if we gave them free rein. The ideological component of our minds seems to be tied to these archaic troublesome emotions. If ever we needed Christ-like ideas and feelings to arise, now is the time.
