The Meaning Of Random Word Associations

Unread postby PenultimateManStanding » Wed 14 Sep 2005, 22:18:13

Nothing has gotten the traction of the random word association thread. I once thought of trying to summarize it, but that has faded from view as it has gotten too big. Clearly it is enjoyed by many of us. Why do you like it so much? I like it because, because, well, I'm not sure. Maybe because I like to connect with other people. Well done, Kevo.

It's just the...randomness...of the replies that keeps it interesting.
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.
It's not hard to do.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('MD', 'I')t's just the...randomness...of the replies that keeps it interesting.
But it isn't random. Random replies are not satifying. It's the connectedness of the the replies that's fun.

The last I looked the conversation consisted of one word from each participant.

That's traction?
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

Words invoke a frame in wich they belong, and someone respond by another word in that frame. But people may not have the same frame in mind when they read it, leading to surprise. This is the basis of humor.

And this is an easy way to enhance your posting rating. Is there anything above fusion ?
