Michael Moore: Will You Help Me With My Next Film?

Unread postby Carlhole » Wed 11 Feb 2009, 09:35:13

Will You Help Me With My Next Film? ...a request from Michael Moore

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'F')riends,

I am in the middle of shooting my next movie and I am looking for a few brave people who work on Wall Street or in the financial industry to come forward and share with me what they know. Based on those who have already contacted me, I believe there are a number of you who know "the real deal" about the abuses that have been happening. You have information that the American people need to hear. I am humbly asking you for a moment of courage, to be a hero and help me expose the biggest swindle in American history.

All correspondence with me will be kept confidential. Your identity will be protected and you will decide to what extent you wish to participate in telling the greatest crime story ever told.

The important thing here is for you to step up as an American and do your duty of shedding some light on this financial collapse. A few good people have already come forward, which leads me to believe there are many more of you out there who know what's going on. Here's your chance to let your fellow citizens in on the truth.

If you have any info that would help, please contact me at my private email address: bailout@michaelmoore.com.

For the rest of you on my email list who don't work in the financial industry, you're probably wondering, "What the heck is this all about? I thought he said he was making a romantic comedy!"

Well, I just can't say much right now. I'm sure you can understand why. One thing I can tell you is that you're gonna like this movie when I'm done with it. Oh, yeah...

So, again, if you work for a bank, a brokerage firm or an insurance company -- or if you have seen things or heard things that you believe the American people have a right to know -- please contact me at bailout@michaelmoore.com.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Yours,
Michael Moore

If this movie has the same objective and fair report the Bowling for Columbine movie had on firearms, then I await this movie with bated breath.

Nevermind. Let the fat man starve.
If the American people ever allow the banks to control issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers occupied. Arsenal-

I agree. I actually own "Bowling" and watched it again a few months ago (before that it had been years). It was a bunch of BS the second time around. The guy is not fair or balanced... He's just one more cog in this machine.

Michael Moore serves a purpose and I watch all of his movies and shows. But he isn't balanced, that's for sure. In Sicko, I don't doubt the individual stories he described, but it's everything he left out that does his "entertain-mentary" disservice.

In my family and friends, I know of no one who has suffered at the hands of the US health care as he described. No one. I guess we are lucky and made smart decisions so that we could weather storms like that.

I'll never forgive Michael Moore for the deplorable way he badgered and hounded Charleton Heston who was sick with Alzheimers for something he had nothing to do with and no control over. It was shameful.

For this type of documentary, I much prefer Morgan Spurlock who directed "Super Size Me". He has several projects in the works right now.

This is exactly the same plea he made prior to making Sicko, right down to the romantic comedy bit. I'm not sure Moore ever claimed to be either fair or balanced and I concede that his films shouldn't be called documentaries. But he presents a side that gets buried under the constant avalanche of mainstream media. If you want to hear the side Moore ignores, turn on or open up any source of corporate owned media. However, only one of them gives a line by line factual reference to every statement made.

As far as exploiting Charlton Heston, if he was sentient enough to recognize Moore's interview as awkward and inappropriate, he should have also walked away from his role hosting the NRA conference, the location of which was also awkward and inappropriate.

Regardless of your opinion of Michael Moore, he gets people talking about issues, which I do believe is one of his goals.

Seeing as to how they are both grossly overweight we need both of them to balance eachother out, literally and figuratively.

Probably, but I hope you can at least admit that we do have a serious problem with healthcare in the US (spiraling costs, tens of millions without health insurance, millions more with "utah insurance", etc.)

Michael Moore is very good at taking a political debate that he could probably win fair and square and then spoiling it by using propaganda tactics.

I think a show like Frontline does a better job of covering issues with journalistic integrity.

This makes no sense at all. We are talking about the deplorable way Michael Moore hectored a terminally ill person. Charleton's support of the Bill of Rights is his own business, especially if he continued to champion the cause while dying. Should Mohammad Ali be badgered and hectored while he is sick, just because he still makes public appearances?

Murders happen every day all over the world. Just because a girl was killed close to an NRA conference was not the NRAs fault. They had nothing to do with it and there is no logical connection between the two events. Michael Moore fucked up and proved what an asshole he can be.

Not nearly enough. People are in such a desensitized stupor that the only way to get their attention is to have douchebags like Jim Cramer rolling his sleeves up and yelling as deliberate schtick.

You can criticize Moore for being many things, but psychic is not one of them:

June 21, 2001 Michael Moore Interviews the President of the NRA, Charlton Heston

August 9, 2002 Heston Announces He Has Symptoms of Alzheimer's

October 9,. 2002 'Bowling for Columbine' Hits U.S. Theaters

March 23, 2003 'Bowling for Columbine' Wins Academy Award

April 28, 2003 Heston Steps Down as President of the NRA

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Jotapay', 'S')hould Mohammad Ali be badgered and hectored while he is sick, just because he still makes public appearances?

I would hope not! Was Moore being an asshole to Heston because he was (unknowingly) sick? I don't think so. Why did Heston walk out on Moore? I would say because the interview was inappropriate. Agreed?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Jotapay', ' ')Murders happen every day all over the world. Just because a girl was killed close to an NRA conference was not the NRAs fault. Yes, it's a tragedy, but neither I nor Moore blame the Columbine shooting on the NRA. However, to hold a pro-gun rally in Denver 10 days after the Columbine shooting (in which 13 were killed, 23 wounded by the way) strikes me as inappropriate (I think this is the point we disagree on).

If Heston was healthy enough to recognize Moore's interview as inappropriate in 2001 and justifiably walk out, he should have been healthy enough to recognize that the venue of the NRA conference was also inappropriate in 1999, and also... walk out.

I hope this clears things up for you, Jotapay. :)
