I wrote a piece back in June for a US magazine on scuba diving in Mexico.
(Which is, I realize, somewhat counter-intuitive for a peaker like myself, but nobody's perfect)

Spent a week diving Isla Mujeres, which is a very small island off the Yucatan coast near Cancun.

Some friends have a small rent house on the Island called Las Brisas, where we stayed. It's a great place to decompress. (Pun intended)

I did my "Open Water" dive training while there with Arturo Delphin , a master diver. Great guy... very knowledgeable.

I'll be back visiting there next week with some friends.

As you can tell from his website, they know Scuba... but the Internet is still something of a mystery.

So I'd like to ask our members & guests to take a few seconds to take a peek at his website and send him a short email of some kind to let him know we are really out here... arturo_delfin@prodigy.net.mx

No big thing, and I'm not pitching his business... but I would love to see his face next Monday after getting bombarded with mail.

Thanks folks... Arturo's a very sincere, family guy who will get a kick out of this.

Done!
Spec has done a few dives in St. Croix. Beautiful. Just stunning. Did some wreck diving (Spec was almost eaten by a stingray 8O ), saw a shark, took a tour and the giude said "Your local? Go ahead, you dont have to stay with the group" 8)
Toured a refinery there (Hovic, now Hovensa), got some especially cool stuff from there as reminders.
Drank white russians and pina coladas to excess, and then go them in a convienent to-go plastic cup and finished them off on the walk back home.
Definately a unique isalnd, but I would highly caution its not an island for the first timer.
The natives get restless from time to time, and you want to keep your head about you and know where and where not to go.
Case in point, Sandy Point. Spec has never seen such a pristine beach (Not even in Hawaii!) absolutely perfect.
And completely off limits if your not local. Last he heard anyways.
