As a certified diver, if she goes down in shallows I'd almost be forced to go dive it. It would make for a very cool dive trip.
Which is a moot point. If she goes down shallow enough to dive it they WILL raise it.
And even if its too deep for civilian divers they'd most likely still raise it. Too much investment to let it rust.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'y')a right. peak oil there may not be money to drag it back up. i am a diver also and that would be paradise

Except it isnt peak oil yet, and that platform can do alot to keeping PO at bay. In fact, the more of an oil crunch there is the more resolve there will be to raising it.
Provided it sinks of course.

nice reef!

I bet in about 1 to 2 years there will be some excellent fishing off that oil platform. There will probably be some big grouper hanging off those pylons.
I hope to get out there.

If you look at BP's website it seems the platform has been righted..

Your right zed.
The platform itself isonce again fully stable.
Theres an interesting twist however. BP is VERy tight lipped about what happened. The Coast Gaurd wont recertify its seaworthiness without a full disclosure of what happened.
Puts BP in a bind.

One way or the other, if BP wants TH to stay in the Gulf it WILL have to tell us what happened.
