I guess it depends on how high it has to be pumped.

For such a small quantity, a ram pump may be useful. They are good at taking a small percentage of a large-ish capacity river and pushing it up hillsides.
What we think, we become.

This question is far more fundamental to most people than will they be able to drive their car to work (I don’t).

Potable water is probably one of the true definitions of civilization. The Romans were famous for the recognition of it where ever they went with baths and aqueducts.

I have read up to a quarter of the electricity used by modern civilization is for pumping and purifying water. I have heard Dr. Dean Edell on his weekly radio program say upwards of 30% of deaths in 1900 was caused by water borne disease (Dysentery, Typhus, and Cholera).

Anyone out there now reading this, it is imperative for your future survival that you understand how to purify (make it so it doesn’t kill you) water. Can be done with simple beach or water pasteurization with a solar rig (does not require boiling). Many good sites. Just put those words into the search engine.

P. S. Sirrom,

In the last month I have become a vegan for future health reasons. I believe it’s the only way to have a healthy life in the future.

I’ve been around Pigs and Chickens as a kid and couldn’t kill one unless I had to feed a child and had a gun to it with (while I closed my eyes).
