Actually, jason posited a grid traversal problem involving a 5X11 grid. Some very smart guys like Carlhole and Andrew came up with a solution which jason said was wrong. (in a rather condescending manner, too). Well I tried out the same problem on a 5X3 grid where the solution can be found graphically and showed that jason's solution didn't work and that Carlhole's and Andrew's solution was consistent with the results of the simpler case. Jason's reply is that his professors say he's right. I don't know about that, but I do know the results of simply drawing the answer on a grid on paper. Definitely jason formula is wrong for 3X5 so I can only presume it is wrong for 5X11 as well.
