sure, smoking is a health risk. There is an article at LATOC today that suggests massive health risks from RF/microwave radiation as well. The cell phones are killing us and are more dangerous than smoking and asbestos says one of the experts cited. radiation poisoning article

As usual roccman your not paying attention. I never said anything about "giving a fuck" about whether folks smoke or not. I could care less If you want to accelerate the gene pool cleansing.

You just had to put some snide comment behind my post, I know, you cant resist.

I don't like to be around smokers when I'm eating, but thats about it. Some folks I know smoke and I could give a rats ass really.

All I said is it is hard to understand a person continuing something they know is ultimately going to kill them more likely than not. No personal judgments here about the habit at all.

Do you know who I blame for my smoking habit? The fucking government! Do you have any idea how much money our government has made off of taxes. Do you really think they want to give up all of the money they make off of killing people.

Personally, I think the government should be sued for 2.5 trillion dollars and have to use the lawsuit monies to pay to help all smoker quit and begin a fazeout process over 1 year to remove all tobacco products from being able to be sold.

Of course I hate smoking, but I didn't start smoking until I joined the military and virtually everyone in my company smoked so I ended up taking up the habit.

But, if you smoke nazi's who have no fucking clue what it is like to be addicted to this bitch keep running your worthless fucking mouths, I will put this fucking thing out on your forhead. Try me bitch

You anti-smoking Nazis, spew your hate somewhere else!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')n article in the Summer 1990 issue of The Compleat Smoker describes an interesting longevity study conducted in Pennsylvania during the late '60s and early '70s. An organization called No Other World performed the research with the assistance of the Northwestern Pennsylvania Lung Association and regional chapters of the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. "In the study," reports The Compleat Smoker, "pipe smokers attained an average age of 78--two years older than their non-smoking male counterparts." This may say something about the stress-reducing benefits of pipe smoking. At the very least, it suggests that moderate pipe smoking is not a significant health hazard.

I've smoked since I was 14...I'm now 42 (and yes I can still go jogging and I still smoke).

So if all the B.S. you hear about ciggies is true...shouldn't I be dead by now? :)

I want to see the same regulations & taxes put on cell phones (radiation) and riskey sexual behavior, and obesity etc. etc. etc...

Took my mom to a park for a walk & noticed a brand new sign that states NO SMOKING ANYWHERE IN THE PARK...this is an open air park with 3 lakes...it's many sqare miles large. WTF is that crap?

Talk about smoke nazzis...damn good thing I own my own home, because people in apt's & condos are now being told they can't smoke in their own domicile. Now THAT is just messed up!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Tyler_JC', 'I') do not directly suffer as a result of the damage done to Congolese children. --snip-- Wait a minute... Those 440,000 premature deaths do put a lid on population growth...free cigarettes for everyone?
Well Tyler - thanks for not buying diamonds. I still don't think it compares to the ill effect you and I have on the globe. Oh well...so it goes.

Camel straights were once my friend. Rolled American Spirit tobacco at the end. Then I quit for good via acupuncture 12 years ago. Sometimes I think it would be enjoyable to smoke and do so occasionally while dreaming. And when I wake up, I don't stink!

My 60-something neighbor is an effective tobacco deterrent. During the summer, she sits outside for her morning smoke which is not far from our bedroom window. Eegads! It sounds like she's losing half a lung out there.

Wow, after 12 years you still have dreams in which you are smoking. Nicotine is incredibly addicting. I used to use Copenhagen dip which I began using when I worked on oil rigs. Fantastic buzz and just the thing if you have to do 12 hours of backbreaking labor involving putting together 11 foot barrels of shaped charges and crimping blasting caps on primer cord and then doing hydrostatic pressure calculations. That was the hardest thing to quit as it is like mainlining. Used to use the nose snuff tobacco too. Now at least I'm down to smoking about a quarter pack a day of lights. But unlike roccman, I enjoy them. Nicotine is a reward to the brain. A trick of nature.

Ok, I really don't care what people may think. I'm going to out myself at this time.

Ok, here goes... I smoke zero to three cigarettes per day. A pack generally lasts 10 days. I hide them. I sneak them. Like PNS, I really, really enjoy them.

I tell no one. I check the 'no' box when I see a dr (which is rarely) for anything. I get non-smoker discounts. I never smoke in the car or in the house. I wash my hands and mouth thoroughly after each one.

Please tell no one outside this small circle of friends.

Hi eastbay, I'm PMS, and I'm addicted to nicotine. It's been about five minutes since my last smoke. One time I smoked about 3 packs of camels in two hours and woke up in a ditch.

Oh they know you smoke. As an x smoker myself I can sniff you out a mile away. They just don't want to confront you with it.

PMS, since you now smoke 5 per day instead of 20 or 40 per day, I must say that's an incredible positive correction. Just think of all the money you are saving too!

If you toss in lots of exercise and proper diet you should now live long enough to watch Our Common Disaster arrive at the station. Toot, toot!! :)

Nope, the worst thing you can do to your body is work in the wireless communications business as a technician installing cell phone towers. Those people are dropping like flies. I have an ex brother in law who did that for years. He exercised regularly, ate well, and is now a wreck in his 50's.

I actually think drinking alcohol is at the top of the list...just below smoking crack.
