So they can stay inside and maybe, if they have electricity and a TV, watch this program. Or they can step outside and actually see the IDF shooting missiles into the streets and killing people.

So things may be coming to a head once again? For the 10th time in the past 20 years? I wish they would just have it out like in 67', then Jeebus would come back and we could all rapture or float up to heaven on gossamer wings or whatever. I wish I could fly, or achieve invisibility, or have x-ray eye-balls.
Perhaps the population would be less swayed to socialism if we had fewer examples of socialism from our "Free Market Capitalists". -----fiddler dave

I heard the Palestinians who met the activists on the beach were very disappointed that there was nothing in the boat but activists.

No food, no medicines, not even any guns...just elderly activists. :P

Yah, and that whole [failed] publicity stunt cost about 300 thousand dollars. They got to hand out some hearing aids and balloons, that's it. I wonder where all these activists will be in a few years when [ridiculously overpopulated] gaza is starving to death. Oh wait, they'll be starving too, so they won't give a shit, just like they don't give a shit about all the other brown people in the world starving or dying in wars not participated in by white people.

Israel vs Hamas heating up

Scores Killed in Airstrikes

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', ' ')GAZA CITY (CNN) -- Israeli aircraft launched air attacks across Gaza on Saturday, killing at least 100 people, including the Hamas police chief, according to Israeli and Palestinian sources.

Smoke rises from the Gaza town of Rafah after Israeli air strikes on Saturday.

Palestinian medical sources said 250 people were wounded.

A statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Israeli aircraft attacked "a series of Hamas targets and infrastructure facilities."

"Many killed and many injured," a Gaza-based reporter said. "People are running in the streets."

The reporter, who is not being named for safety reasons, said the attacks, which are hitting across Gaza, appeared to be the biggest he had seen in his decades there.

Video from the scene showed severely wounded people being loaded into cars and driven to hospitals.

"The Air Force activity came as a result of the continuation of terror activity by Hamas terror organization from the Gaza Strip, and the duration of rocket launching and targeting Israeli civilians," the IDF statement said.

The IDF said the targets "include Hamas terror operatives that operated from the organization's headquarters, training camps and weaponry storage warehouses."

Why so serious?

Everyone has a plan.

But sometimes, there is no order.

There is only stupidity and bloodshed.

Followed by a temporary timeout and then more stupidity and bloodshed.

Until everyone involved gets their priority straight.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'H')amas threatened to unleash "hell" to avenge the dead, including possible suicide bombings inside Israel.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said the Israeli air campaign was "criminal" and called for the international community to intervene.

Palestinians staged protests rallies in East Jerusalem, Ramallah and Hebron, leading to scuffles with the Israeli army.

European Union Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana called for an immediate ceasefire and urged "everybody to exert maximum restraint," his spokesman said.

Egypt also condemned the Israeli raids and said it would keep trying to restore a truce between Israel and Gaza. Arab foreign ministers were set to hold an emergency meeting in Cairo on Sunday or Monday to take a common position on the raids.

The White House appeared to put the onus on Hamas. "Hamas' continued rocket attacks into Israel must cease if the violence is to stop," spokesman Gordon Johndroe said.

The last year has had a lot of learning for me, including about the Palestinians. I now see the situation much differently than I used to.

They are confined to their concentration camp, and unable to get themselves out, or food and medicine in. Reporters and human rights organizations are given little, if any access to the inside. The ongoing starvation and airstrikes they suffer go underreported, but their feeble attempts at striking back make front page news and are used as justification for another round of inflicting death and suffering upon them.

Sadly, I don't think things are going to work out for the Gazans. At this point, the Israelis have left them limited choices: Slow attrition by open conflict, or slower attrition by starvation.

There's too much money being made off of their ethnic cleansing, and too little interest in stopping it. They are going to be exterminated, and 20 years down the road everyone's going to moan about how it could have been avoided.

Sad.

Israel needs to get it's butt kicked, and hard. It's got to experience some of the collective punishment it's been forcing Arabs to put up with for decades. Hamas is heroic.

For the long-term, like for less than a decade or two, Israel's chances for survival are totally hopeless. They'll eventually get a very nasty taste of what they've been dishing out these past 60 years. Just give it some time. Nothing can stop the coming death of that 'nation'.

Let's just hope the rhetoric on both sides is nothing but exaggeration to what the reality of a post-Israel Middle East will look like. Otherwise, there may not be an Arab nation to cry about the state of the Palestinians.

The Arabs don't need a Ghandi nor a Sherman. They need a Saladin.

Someone actually buys their BS? Heroic attack on School

Heroic would be to stop attacking Sderot and start attacking the checkpoints that are guarded by Israeli soldiers. Why bomb buildings when soldiers are in sight and range? Attacking innocents isn't courageous nor noble.

The mainstream media is Israeli occupied territory as well. They present an inverted reality to their readership, and the basic assumptions aren't questioned.

I have no problem with "the Jews". But I have a huge problem with the neo cons in Israel, and their cooperative Western media "watchdogs".

People generally are totally freaked out of being labeled an anti-semite. For that reason I'll probably offer disclaimers too. But I won't bother when talking about anyone else.
