I could be wrong, but I think we just stepped a couple of steps closer to revolt in the US. The economists have proclaimed the recession to be over, but every "real" person is scared about their job if they haven't lost it already, and they know several people that have lost their jobs.

Novus has got it right. The real revolt is withdrawing from the economy, and thus "the machine", "the game" or whatever you want to call it. As soon as you quit playing the game, "they" have more or less lost control of you. You can say, think and do whatever you want (within reason). Yes, an army can come crush you. But an army won't work for free. Quit the economy, starve the beast.

Now it's probably impossible to completely withdraw unless you're going to live in the woods somewhere. But there's a lot of ways to withdraw fairly completely. Buy only local. Buy recycled goods. Swap for needed items. Refuse to buy from corporations. ETC.
After fueling up their cars, Twyman says they bowed their heads and asked God for cheaper gas. There was no immediate answer, but he says other motorists joined in and the service station owner didn't run them off.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Buggy', 'W')hy, after 4 years of paying on a mortgage, do I still owe just a little less than the amount I borrowed???? I pay over and never miss a payment.

I'm sorry Buggy but the first four or more years go right to interest. Thems the rules. If you paid less than 20% down and the real estate market in your area has not appreciated, you are screwed.
Did you create your signature-line before or after this realization?

Indeed, and you don't have to agree or respect the philosophy/politics they believed in. What you do have to respect is that they were quite willing to take a bullet for an idea, and one of them did. Show me a citizen of North American, living in suburbia, who is willing to do that?

The revolt has been underway for decades.

Ignored by media

ignored by government

Ignored by scholastics

Now the revolt is growing amorphous growth that stretches from gangs to communes to families.

The revolt has percentages of participation, from skipping those made in China trinkets to living in the woods to tax protestations to actively engaging in commerce outside the proscribed limits allowed.

The revolt is seen in bumper stickers and in criminal gang activity. The interesting thing about watching the revolt is watching the different demographics groups begin their own revolt and watching the growing clamor from those who ignored it in the 60s for someone to lead them in revolt against the system they refused to step out from when it was harder to be outside than inside.

Enjoy your personal revolt. You really have only a few choices, rail rant and smash things, submit to slavery, or revolt. ( on what ever scale you feel will satisfy your own self)

So what is new? Only the visibility level of the mailed fist holding the sword.

The one took a bullet for ideas? you think so/ interesting how propaganda works.

Getting people to wage war on their neighbors so that your plan of despotic ruling wins over some other plan ( of despotic ruling)is sooo popular with some, it looks great in books and movies.

Underestimation of suburban and rural Americans is easy the mainstream will even agree with you, but history records a different story. We may be 300 years removed from the pimps. prostitutes, and paupers that England shipped to "the colonies" but we ( the great grandsons and grand daughters of those petty criminals) have already saved their pitiful posteriors several times.

There is a saying so old and common it shouldn't have to be repeated. When the going gets tough the tough get going. The unsaid part of that saying is "and the sheep blat and scream for a shepherd and his dog."

Anyone who posted on this thread in favor of some form of revolt is hereby on the "LIST". Say your goodbyes to your loved ones. The troopers will be kicking in your door shortly.
Actually that was said somewhat tongue in cheek, but I kind of almost, kind-of-sorta believe it.

I wonder will the swat team surround my truck in a truck stop? or will they wait till I am inside a military installation delivering?

They won't have any trouble recognising the truck, it is the one with a 12 ft wide panaramic shot of the new Bern National cemetary on the side with "Freedom is not free" in 1 foot tall orange letters below the picture.

I expect I am already "on the list" for something.

As opposed to daily torture and murder at the hands of the police, sprawling beaurocracies that monitor your every movement, rampant obesity and systemic corruption and theft from public coffers by corporations.

At this point, I'm hard-pressed to rate one system over the other.

OK, Its looks like a bunch of commie lovers here, if Castro system than is SO GREAT than why are they risking drowning for leaving and being hanged for trying to flee Cuba, if it was so GREAT than why can't there citizens come to America and vacation, WHY, why no freedom of speech, why no real elections, WHY, answer these issue's.

Castro had 50 years and they are still poor, can't blame that on America, if there system was so Great than citizens should have freedom of travel and than they would return like they do here in America, But they can't travel to Europe, America, Etc, Why, what do there leaders fear, I KNOW THEY WON'T RETURN............
