It’s not an analogy, it’s the law of accelerating returns, a concept that no doubt you will never be able to accept.
It begins with the first epoch, the first level of acceleration, where the universe forms and the first molecules gradually form. Eventually planets are formed and finally life, where biological evolution takes it to a whole new level of acceleration. After a short while, compared to the pace of molecule and planet formation, biological evolution results in a species that creates the next level of acceleration through technology. The results of technological evolution, just like the results of previous forms of evolutions, are cumulative, resulting in ever more complex entities. Eventually this process will lead to the next level of acceleration when a particular technology is developed (AI) that is equal to human intelligence and capable of designing and improving upon future versions of itself, resulting in extremely rapid increases in innovation.
Getting bogged down with arguments about the mechanics of biological evolution being different from technological evolution is pointless. Of course the mechanics are different. It’s the same as arguing about the differences between biological evolution and the formation of molecules and planets. There is no comparison in the mechanisms at all. However there is a profound comparison to be made in the results of these processes, that is, the law of accelerating returns.
