$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Pretorian', 'T')oday was a video posted on youtube, I cant locate it now, and it showed a lying , burned corpse with typical risen hands in the middle of the rather big and busy street. There are were cars driving back and forth ($25 a gallon is a no biggie for haitians) , bunch of locals walking, talking , loitering, minding their business in general. They surely didnt look as malnourished, dehydrated victims under attack of diarrhea. So, that body was there for a week already ( my guess).
Whom exactly do they expect to move it from the center of the street? Is it typical for a Negro or Haitian customs/culture? Singing and clapping hands on top of rubble with live people inside, while foreign rescuers are busy digging also comes to mind.
Last thing I heard UN is trying to hire Haitians to clear rubble for $5 a day. So, my question is simple really: why do we need this more than they do?
I see some logic in that. I think the main reason is that they have no idea how to rectify the situation or have any motivation for it. What do they have to look forward to? They are completely bankrupt, economically and skill-wise.
The Germans were busy stacking bricks and clearing rubble from bombed buildings the same day the treaty was signed in WW-2.
