$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('shortonsense', 'W')hile I find the show fascinating, it most closely resembles flies bothering a horse...sure..those flies are irritating, and that tail can't chase them all away, but certainly the horse doesn't otherwise seem bothered by them much.
Oh it irritates them alright, because every delay the Sea Shepherd guys create costs them very large amounts of money in reduced catch. It irritates em right in the wallet.
I think the most despicable thing about the Japanese whaling is the lying. "Research". It's pitiful. They know they are lying when they say this is their purpose, the rest of the world knows they are lying, and they know the world knows they are lying. What possible 'face', or honour there is to be found in such cowardly dishonesty is beyond me. Grow some balls, and say you like killing and eating highly intelligent mammals. Stop lying. New Zealand and Australia are currently launching
a joint whale research programme in the Southern Ocean, which will entail the deaths of exactly zero whales. They've even figured out a way, using air rifles and darts, to take tissue samples without harming the whales. This is what real research looks like, not the lies of the Japanese.
Also, if you think you're entitled to traditional whale taking, then get out in your traditional dugout canoe with your traditional bone harpoon and put your butt on the line in the traditional fashion. Or STFU.
Oh, and a happy new year to you all!
