$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Sixstrings', 'B')ottom line here is that religion and science are two fundamentally different, and yet equally necessary, fields of of human understanding. They cannot ever be mixed, but I will admit that we need them both.
I disagree with the notion of not mixing, in fact, I think you can draw some interesting thoughts when you take the "WHO" part of religion, and the "HOW" from observation of the natural world (
Natural Revelation) and use them together to contemplate the nature of "WHY".
"WHY" always seems to me to be the most perplexing and insistent of questions; we usually ask it in a negative sense, "Why did Bob kill Doug?" and often dismiss the positive, "Why am I here, observing this sunrise from a mountain top on this perfect morning?"
I'll even give you are real one to mull over.. Why does the universe have a limiting constant which we notate with "c" , the speed of light. It limits everything that can be seen and done, it limits time, space, and rules the natural world with regard to energy. These are questions that don't have a "right" answer, not meant to prove or disprove the existence of God, but rather questions that invite exploration within.

Unfortunately for humanity as a whole, Jihads are fun.
