They run your blood sugar way up right after you eat them. A couple of hours later it crashes and you're starving. Atkins diet works because people aren't hungry so they don't eat as much. Their insulin levels stay low and stable and they don't get the hypoglycemia induced hunger. Not that I'm recommending eating 1200 calories of KFC per meal, but if you did, you'd probably end up not being very hungry for an entire day. Throw in a couple of green salads and you might actually end up ok nutritionally.
