All I saw at that link was 2 pages of deniers. I have had similar results over the years. Nobody buys it, despite literal truckloads of evidence.

I don't bother trying any more.

That thread is an orgiastic bordello of ignorance and misinformation.

They're equivocating terminal decline in production with "running out" and claim that new finds of unconventionals (ultra-deep water, etc.) will somehow save us.

The problem with arguing with Cornucopianists is that many of them are part of the World Net Daily crowd, and you'd have better luck reasoning with a rock formation. For many of them it's hand in hand with Young Earth Creationism.

I've tried spreading the news on motorcycle related websites a few times over the years. It's largely a waste of time. 99.9999% of them just don't get it. It's a bit maddening because for us it's just so darn clear as a bell. And I KNOW we're no smarter than them. :o

+1 eastbay, I lurk in that site as well, is an excellent source of information about SKs´s and AK´s but the critical thinking over there is not very much in the bright side. People pondering if Obama is the anticrist, foreign troops invading USA and grapping their weapons (as if foreigners don ´t have enough problems already), and stuff like that. So, learn what they are good at, and that´s it.

As a comment aside, ReserveGrowthRulz has fallen quite low. Is that the crowd he is preaching now?

He is not welcome on peak oil web sites. He used to spend a lot of time here and at the oildrum but his one trick (that field-reserve growth would counter aggregate world oil depletion), to did not ride well. He assumed that the pattern seen in the USA (where SEC constraints demand conservative initial reserve measures) would be repeated at all wells world wide. He points to the post-1984 OPEC reserve increases. But we know those are political barrels. Right?

OK.
