Amazing! You banged the trash cans and only a handful of whackjobs have scurried out (self included). The demographics here must have changed quite a bit. Seems "leftist whackjobs" are almost extinct, harsh daylight, reality, and a declining economy may do them in. I knew O's administration would be brutal for "leftist whackjobs" We right wing whackjobs are having a field day
Glad you're happy.
I wasn't really rallying the troops, just wondering what happened to them - supply lines cut? Surrounded behind enemy lines? Some of the TOD crew have diaries going at Dkos, and overall the peak preparedness message is heavy with environmental/social themes, real Dem or progressive stuff; with the Obamas gardening I expect it will become even more of a talking point. So why don't we get people posting here about the need for universal health care or ending extraordinary rendition? Other than it being mentioned in passing. The overall message is too grim, perhaps; or you lot have grossed them out en masse. Or they believe it's all a non-issue.
Kunstler or Greer wrote that it pays to keep an eye on the extremist movements of the day, post-peak they may likely have the ascendancy on a platform based on revenge for the populace. Chances are this will mean leaning in the one direction; the DoublePlus Republican Party. Or local politics will take on far greater significance than the national, out of necessity, in which case YMMV big time.
