I've always wondered whether it's going to be a white singularity or a black one.
The white one would be a benevolent AI, galaxy-spanning intelligence, harnessing galactic-scale energy and material resources, you know, the whole sci-fi works.
The black one could be the rise of SkyNet, malevolent alien contact, total systems collapse, or gray goo, you know, the whole sci-fi works.

Obviously noone in charge is has been listening to these guys. With the govt solidly in the hands of the moneyed interests, I don't expect them to do the right thing for us or the country.
The black swan event could be anything, with our financial system is so precarious a state. I saw another interview with Taleb and a math genius, that indicated they don't sleep too well these days, anticipating the worst. Math is a solid science. It does not pay to ignore it blindly, which TPTB clearly are doing.
