Hell, even chickens have glands (greenish blue sacks) you have to watch for... or is that the bladder. can't remember now. Don't forget pigeons, there are some good recipes for squab stew on the net. gives your kids something to do with the ends of bread crusts no one wants to eat, and attracts a regular flock to you in the park or where ever.

We have a guy who has been feeding them in the downtown core for a few years, I swear he's got a flock of of couple hundred living her year round now.... things go down hill, I know where to go.

As for bugs... yeuch! have you ever eaten a worm? Its disgusting... mind you if you can get used to something as buckleys, this would be a walk in the park, though the will always taste bad... no matter how many you eat.
