The Ides of March is Today ...

... and that means I now have 27 years without a drop of alcohol. Not even one. Not even in medicine. Nada. Zip. Half of my life. :)

Yup, it's today, and the only reason I remember the exact date is that it's the day Caesar got whacked. 8O

Any other long or short termers hanging around here???

Congratulations, EB! :)
I remember today because 31 years ago today, my older son was born.

Yeah Tree Farmer... some here can remember when drunk driving was considered 'funny'. People would tell cute hilarious stories of driving home smashed barely evading tickets and accidents. That was the 70's. It seems like everyone spent that decade drunk. I certainly did. It seemed 'fun' at the time.

However, at some point in the early 80's a switch was hit somewhere and suddenly drunk driving went from 'funny' to 'completely unacceptable' seemingly overnight. At least that's my experience.

I bet most of us who've stopped drinking have saved some lives in the process. Including our own. And to those who haven't: it ain't funny at all.

23 years is amazing JJ. I hope I can squeeze out 23 more! Each day we're a day closer! :)

Quit for year. Off the wagon again for a while. But I understand what you are up to.
