Whats wrong with Partially Hydrogenated Oils?

What's on your mind?
General interest discussions, not necessarily related to depletion.

How do you avoid Partially Hydrogenated Oils?

I avoid the stuff- never eat it and warn people.

Consuming partially hydrogenated oils is like inhaling cigarette smoke. They will kill you -- slowly, over time, but as surely as you breathe. And in the meantime, they will make you fat!

Seriously, I eat fast food. I eat healthy too. I don't gorge myself. I get a tiny bit of exercise, but I don't avoid running or jumping or doing crazy things. I'm supposedly at a good weight, a bit on the underweight scale.

I don't crave food. As a child I was forced (by my parents) to eat great big helpings of dinner, but I also ran around as if my life depended on it.

It's not the healthiest thing in the world. It won't make you sick by itself. But when you combine crappy exercise, crappy eating habits, avoiding work, etc... it becomes a problem.

Since it's an industry decision to use it, attacking it when an individual is more at fault isn't really justified - lots of people are fine with it in their foods.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'F')ive small chicken nuggets from a fast food chicken outlet contained nearly 4 grams of trans fat.

• An apple danish from a donut shop contained about 2.7 grams of trans fat.

• Two vegetable spring rolls from a Chinese takeout contained about 1.7 grams of trans fat.

• Just one fillet of battered fish from a fish and chips restaurant dinner contained about 1.2 grams of trans fat -- and that's not including the trans fat in the French fries.

• Even in pizza you'd most likely ingest about 1 gram of trans fat in two slices -- most of it from vegetable shortening used to process the crust.

From this, the average in the foods could be about 2 grams. It's not a problem if you eat fast food every other day. I think the problem is that people do not eat or live healthy - or even want to. Many people will know the answer to the question: Is McDonalds (or any fast-food place) healthy?

butter and olive oil works. just do not get the restaurant grade olive oil. I think it is called 'pomenade' or so olive oil.

margarine (like all the hydrogenated stuff) and the 'pomenade' oil we use as standarts in the lab for chemical analysis, if we want to show solvents and residual catalysts, such as nickel, hexane or dichloromethane. good stuff man...

I am thinking the big die-off will come before the oil runs out. so everybody I hear that likes pre-fab mac food, as in mac food, that is anything you buy with hydrogenated oils, just keep eating it. .......one less person to consume oxygen......and petrochemicals!!!!
It just gets better every day....

The body can take a lot of bad nutrition as long as one cleanses the bowel from time to time. A method that works for me is to use Richard Schulzes Formula 1 and 2 http://800herbdoc.com/home_1024x768.asp (don't be turned off by his style, it is his products that I go for not his personality).

His additional cleansing products are bonus BTW and not necessary. I don't buy them since they are expensive.

To bring it to the point: When doing a fast keep your bowels moving. The substance for that purpose is primarily bentonite clay (his formula 2) . In order not to completely constipate on that stuff one takes formula 1. Everone has to find out the equilibrium for himself.

As general side effect there are good chances that existing health problems and conditions get better or dissapear.

After 5 days or so your clean and can go back happily to crappy diet.
