$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('HeckuvaJob', '[')Why did Heston walk out on Moore? I would say because the interview was inappropriate. Agreed?

Yes, agreed.

It's been years since I saw the movie, but Michael Moore was badgering Heston about a young girl that was killed a few days before the NRA convention, no?

My point was that the NRA is an organization whose primary goal is to train people how to use firearms safely and participate in shooting sports. The NRA has nothing to do with criminals and how they violate the law. The NRA supports keeping guns out of the hands of criminals. Michael Moore's position would be like protesting outside a car convention because a drunk driver plowed into a crowd at a bus stop. It makes no sense.

Not nearly enough. People are in such a desensitized stupor that the only way to get their attention is to have douchebags like Jim Cramer rolling his sleeves up and yelling as deliberate schtick.

There are 78 episodes available online at their website. Also check out Frontline World - Stories From a Small Planet.

Michael Moore's films seem to get better with each new one that comes out, in my humble opinion. I hated "Bowling for Columbine" the most, thought "Fahrenheit 9/11" was alright, and thought "Sicko" was the best overall. He does badger people with his interviews, but I saw less of that in Sicko. I only hope that his next film is his best yet, because these white collar crimes need to be exposed.

It's been years since I've seen it too, but this rings a bell. I think it was her picture he tried to give Heston and ended up leaving on the floor (cringe).

I see your point, but this is where I get off the bus.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('mos6507', '
')Michael Moore is very good at taking a political debate that he could probably win fair and square and then spoiling it by using propaganda tactics.

I think a show like Frontline does a better job of covering issues with journalistic integrity.

"Fair" and "Balanced" and "Journalistic Integrity" are first off all oxymorons when it comes to political reporting, and second are quite boring. Even "Balanced" Frontline has a pronounced political spin favorable to left leaning types.

If you want to get a debate going and juices flowing, you don't produce a fair and balanced documentary. You go over the top and you spin the absolute worst you can against whatever your target is, and Michael Moore does that very well. Rush Limbaugh does the same thing over the radio with his "newz reporting" and analysis, Moore just works in a different medium.

I'll be interested to see what he comes up with. Really interested to see if he gets anywhere near the Illuminati at the top of the pyriamid responsible for the whole mess.

I don't see any problem with Michael Moore, apart from him being a bit right wing!

If the NRA supports keeping guns away from criminals then why did they support the legalization of cop killer bullets?

Therein lies the problem. In the US he may be considered LW, but in Europe his views are considered only slightly to the left of centre!

Nomatter how much he is disliked; Moore provides an entry point for a substantial 'social bandwidth' to issues previously on the fringe.

His genius is in polarizing people's opinions; as they say 'there's no such thing as bad publicity'.

Personally I hope he finds some 'born again' Wall Streeters to 'fess up:

In Australia 'need' is the operative word.

If you 'need' a hip replacement you could be waiting years while your 'need' is delegated use of a wheelchair and painkillers; perhaps some free physiotherapy.

Still better than the 'stop 'em bleeding n get their insurance number or kick em out' attitude in the USA

I can't comment on the circumstances of Australia, but when you get these faults in universal healthcare it is usualy due to the deliberate underfunding of conservative goverments.
