Claptrap

Unread postby PenultimateManStanding » Sat 17 Jan 2009, 22:03:22

I keep hearing this claptrap about how our children and grandchildren are going to have to pay for all of this deficit spending. Balderdash. They won't pay it. They'll be lucky to be alive.

So, ah, we tax burial plots and everything is groovy? I can see that. Might work.

Come on, man! Even Plant can manage the occasional post without succumbing to partisan politics. For all our sakes, please try...it's beyond tedious.

I keep hearing all this claptrap about we're all gonna die (except roccman).

They'll pay for it. Maybe not with dollars or Euros but we're all gonna have to pay for how bad we've fucked up the world.

You're a cornicopian with your "fuck making the bed, it's gonna burn up anyway". I'm pretty tired of that crap.

You're a fatalist & you think it's cute & romantic but I find it mentally lazy & morally repugnant.

It's not all going to crash & burn in one day leaving only the ones with the $30,000 worth of moldy rice to inheret the Earth. How many more years before you hardcore cornicopians recognize that.

It's going to be long & difficult & will inspire the best in some (and certainly will inspire the worst in many). Science won't die. Man won't roll over & die. Chaos may break out in pockets but it's not going to be doomer porn. That's why it's called porn, because it's pure fantasy.

Real porn is fake? Cr*p! Another dream shattered. . .

oh thanks pstarr. :) PMS is gonna think I'm "picking on him" again but I'm not. I'm trying to be a friend and snap him out of his fatalistic rut. Fatalism is bad for health. It'd be sad & ironic if any of the hardcore sudden-doomers died prematurely before the doom they feared even hit. :( (sad because most of them seem to be good guys with the best of intentions... though I suppose it depends on your perspective, to Monte birth, not death is the real tragedy)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('cbxer55', 'H')e is the new prez. Everyone and their mother will be talking about him forever, Why should'nt I? Because I have nothing good to say about him?

No, I don't care about that. It would be just as tedious if you thought he was the second coming and posted constantly to that effect instead.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'Y')ou are tired of it here? I am f--king tired of it on every f--kin channel on the tube.

No kidding. It's all pervasive here in NZ for crissakes! I shudder to think what it's like over there. But that's why I avoid msm and tv as much as possible, and come to sites like this :)

I figure that government draws upon the wealth generating actions of the populace to finance it. Now we are supposed to believe its the other way around? Government creates the wealth and the populace responds? Can the Fed just say, ah, have a few trillion dollars and get back to work?

nice sentiment and often true. Wouldn't want to be a galley slave though. Wouldn't want to be sick, shivering and homeless. Wouldn't want to be whipped in a salt mine. Wouldn't want to be worked to death in a Nazi slave camp. There's a lot of things worse than death. Did you hear about that sick penniless patient with the colostomy bag that was dumped by that hospital on skid row?

Exactly. There will not be enough capital and resources to pay this debacle off. Ever! They will pay thats for sure. But they/We will never pay it off. :/
