$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Madpaddy', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Nickel', 'W')hy don't you ask the IDF how long the guerrillas in south Lebanon lasted when they handed Israel its ass back, in the summer of 2006?
Nickel, are you comparing Iranian students to Hizbollah. Hizbollah fighters were born bred and reared in war. I know, I worked in South Lebanon for over a year.
7000 Iranian students wouldn't add up to a patrol sized unit of Hizbollah fighters. My point is that 7000 students going to fight with Hamas would be more of a hindrance than a help.

Any one of them with a Dragunov and a few hours of training can make more damage in a day than entire Hizbollah did in the last year. This is a matter of will, not of quantity or even skill.

The question remains is the "next phase" indeed a land invasion?
Given the recent approval by occupants to rapidly move all diplomatic staffers out of Gaza the probability is again a notch higher.

Seems like the 2006 defeat in Lebanon made profound impact on someones psyche..

Moreover, all these prewarnings addressed to Obama that is about to face an int. crisis in Q1/2009 are just too funny, did actually AIPAC mail DVDs allover the D.C. with the invasion trailer movie or what..

Israel was never going to permanently tolerate a Hamastan. Sooner or later they were going to go in there and deal with it.

Either Israel will kill all arabs, and I mean every single one of them, or Arabs will throw Israel into the sea, sooner or later. I'd applaud to either solution, personally.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Madpaddy', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Cid_Yama', 'S')ome 7,000 Iranian students in the city of Isfahan have volunteered to fight for Palestine against Israel while more students are signing up in Tehran, the Fars news agency said on Tuesday.
Cool, students versus the Golani Brigade of the IDF. I wonder if they would last even 60 seconds. How do these volunteers even propose to get into the battle theatre. All just BS posturing.

Probably. But since the US has declared victory in Iraq, leaving an Iranian-style Islamic state and a population that hates the US & Israel intensely there are thousands of people with good insurgency experience looking for the next jihad. (Ironically, before Bush, the people of Iraq, Pakistan and many other Islamic countries had a good opinion of the US, according to opinion polls at the time. Believe It Or Not).

They won't go to Gaza, that would be terrible insurgency strategy.

The proven good strategy is hit-and-run attacks on many fronts, forcing the enemy to spread their resources thinly. Including attacks anywhere in the world on those who arm and finance the Israelis.

Link

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I')srael is poised to launch a major ground offensive into Gaza tonight after allowing hundreds of foreigners living in the devastated territory to evacuate.

After a week of air strikes that have killed at least 420 Palestinians and left scores of buildings in rubble, the Israeli army was set to fling hundreds of troops and tanks into a blitz to stamp out Hamas’s military wing, The Times understands.

Despite the looming onslaught, more Hamas rockets – which have so far killed four Israelis – were fired into southern Israel today.

The Islamist group vowed that its attacks, which have lasted for years and which finally provoked the massive Israeli campaign, would not stop.

Keith, jews no longer have to defend themselves from jew haters. This aint 1933. I am very greatful that my people were "stupid and ignorant" enough to go and steal someone else's land and set up an exclusive state just for themselves. :P

Finally! Thanks for this honest post, you did express the Truth. Not because your people are stupid, they're probably not.

But yes, your people did go and steal somebody else land and made they're own state. This is the Truth, no more no less.

Yup, just like America was stolen from the natives, and Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, the Russian far east... Morality is irrelevant to the facts (just as history does not favor the moral), and the world is not a fair place, no matter how many wish it to be. Self-interest at the expense of "the other" is everywhere, and always will be. Some people are poor, some are rich, some groups of people have powerful nations, and some don't have any nation at all.

It's nice to see an honest Zionist for a change instead of those self righteous Jewish sleazeballs who claim to have moral superiority over the good patriotic German Nazis and invent ridiculous lies to morally justify their robbery and murder in Palestine.

Actually tho, it's not just like Canada. Canadian natives have an exclusive right to live on their reserves where they get free housing and medicare. In addition they also have all the rights of Canadians to live anywhere in Canada and vote. Plus they get free education with living allowance through University (which other Canadians don't get). I think Palestinian natives would be lining up to change places with Canadian natives (even if you told them about the climate).

What do our other Jewish members think of "kam3Oen". I suspect he is an anti-Semite posing as a Jew to give Jews a bad name.

The difference between the Zionists and the Nazis is that the Nazis attempted to steal millions of sq. miles of land and killed over 20 million civilians in 5 years, whereas the Zionists stole 10 thousand square miles of land and killed fewer than 25 thousand civilians in 60. Also, the nazis fought against the most powerful nations on earth, and the Zionists fight against a bunch of stone age barbarians. Big difference there.

Here are some interesting comments from Uri Avnery:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'L')iquidate Hamas rule? That sounds like a chapter out of “The March of Folly”. After all, it is no secret that it was the Israeli government which set up Hamas to start with. When I once asked a former Shin-Bet chief, Yaakov Peri, about it, he answered enigmatically: “We did not create it, but we did not hinder its creation.”

For years, the occupation authorities favored the Islamic movement in the occupied territories. All other political activities were rigorously suppressed, but their activities in the mosques were permitted. The calculation was simple and naive: at the time, the PLO was considered the main enemy, Yasser Arafat was the current Satan. The Islamic movement was preaching against the PLO and Arafat, and was therefore viewed as an ally.

With the outbreak of the first intifada in 1987, the Islamic movement officially renamed itself Hamas (Arabic initials of “Islamic Resistance Movement”) and joined the fight. Even then, the Shin-Bet took no action against them for almost a year, while Fatah members were executed or imprisoned in large numbers. Only after a year, were Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and his colleagues also arrested.

Counterpunch
"Uri Avnery is an Israeli writer and peace activist with Gush Shalom. He is a contributor to CounterPunch's book The Politics of Anti-Semitism." (He was also an Irgun terrorist at age 15 and later a member of the Knesset.)

Several other articles about Gaza in todays Counterpunch.

So you're like the bully who beats up on little kids instead of people your own size?

Considering the much smaller population of Zionazis vs. Nazis, you would still seem to come out slightly less evil. But, of course, I am not qualified to make that judgement. We will have to wait till you are brought to justice. Hopefully you will get a fair trial like the Nazis and Saddam had.

Yeas Israel, please continue to do your jew thing overthere in Palestina, Earth is overpopulated and needs a little break. Just don't forget that once you are done it will be your turn to go. I'm in the market for lamb, cous-cous and olive oil also, so reduced demand might save me a fraction of a penny or so per year, thanks Israel.

Leaflet warning to northern Gaza

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'J')ERUSALEM (CNN) -- Leaflets signed by the commander of the Israeli military were dropped over northern Gaza on Saturday morning, warning residents to "leave the area immediately" to ensure their safety.
A Palestinian man in Gaza sits on rubble to read a leaflet dropped Saturday by Israeli warplanes.

Israeli tanks and troops have massed on the Gaza border, and an Israel Defense Forces spokeswoman said ground forces are prepared to enter Gaza when they receive orders to do so.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I')n Damascus, the exiled Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal warned Israel that it faced a “black destiny” if it decided to launch a ground offensive.

He also threatened that militants in Gaza could attempt to seize Israeli troops as hostages, as they did two years ago when the young soldier Gilad Shalit was kidnapped. "If you commit a foolish act by raiding Gaza, who knows, we may have a second or a third or a fourth Shalit," said Meshaal.

"If you commit the stupidity of launching a ground offensive then a black destiny awaits you," the Syria-based Meshaal said in a pre-taped speech aired on Al-Jazeera television.

"You will soon find out that Gaza is the wrath of the God."
